au where murdoc actually got the 13th chapter and completed the map. plastic beach along with the entire universe was sucked down into this one little plug at the bottom of the ocean. murdoc was confirmed to be immortal (in a sense) and he dies along with everything else that’s ever existed, and comes back but in a different, alternate universe. he wakes up in the doyathing house and everyone thinks he just had some outlandish nightmare.
that could explain some of the shitty writing retcons and plot holes. like when 2D said his eyes were fucked up by a chemical accident (i cant remember for the LIFE of me which interview this is from), and how noodle says she doesnt forgive murdoc for el mañana (even though she did before), why evangelist is simply missing, and why the whereabouts of cyborg noodle are so inconsistent.
all the while murdocs just like “what the fuck lol i literally hit u with my car TWICE my guy”
